About Us...

Limoncello is the Italian restaurant at Marina Casa de Campo, a family-run trattoria rooted in the traditions of the Amalfi Coast and serving La Romana for over 20 years. Led by la Signora Maria Di Maio, whose Neapolitan heritage shapes every dish, our kitchen crafts authentic homemade pasta, wood-fired pizza, and fresh seafood in a setting overlooking the yachts and waterways of Plaza Portofino. Whether you are visiting Casa de Campo Resort, staying at a villa, or dining at the marina for the first time, Limoncello offers the kind of genuine Italian cuisine that keeps guests coming back. We are open for lunch and dinner daily from 12:00 PM to midnight. Reserve your table or call us at +1 (809) 523-2299.

Tradition

In Campania, the region that gave the world pizza, fresh mozzarella, and spaghetti with clams, recipes are not written down. They are passed from one generation to the next in the kitchen, by hand, by taste, by memory. That is how Signora Maria learned to cook, growing up along the Amalfi Coast. And that is the tradition she brought to Marina Casa de Campo over 20 years ago when she founded Limoncello. The dishes change with the season. The philosophy never does.

Location

Limoncello sits at Plaza Portofino, the heart of Marina Casa de Campo, one of the most celebrated marinas in the Caribbean, where the Chavón River meets the Caribbean Sea in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Designed to evoke the waterfront plazas of the Italian Mediterranean, Plaza Portofino is the social and dining center of the marina, steps from boutiques, the yacht club, and the open water. Whether you are a guest of Casa de Campo Resort, a villa owner, or visiting La Romana, Limoncello is the Italian restaurant at the marina and has been for over 20 years.

La Signora Maria “La Mama ”

Maria de Maio, Owner of Ristorante Limoncello

La Signora Maria Di Maio was born on December 16, 1942, in Solofra, in the province of Avellino, in the heart of Campania, the region of southern Italy that gave the world pizza, fresh mozzarella, and some of the most enduring cooking traditions in Italian history. She arrived in the Dominican Republic in 2000 and one year later opened Limoncello at Marina Casa de Campo, bringing with her the recipes, techniques, and philosophy of a lifetime spent cooking the food of her homeland. More than two decades on, Limoncello remains one of the most established Italian restaurants in La Romana and the only one rooted in the authentic culinary heritage of Campania. Signora Maria built something rare in Casa de Campo: a restaurant where the food is genuinely Italian, the story is genuinely personal, and the welcome has never changed in over 20 years.
